Solar Bibles for the Bahamas

When the devastating hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamas, hundreds of thousands of men, women and children lost everything -- loved ones, homes, and livelihoods. 

Phase one of the relief effort is to provide immediate response.  Please do what you can to help organizations who are on the front lines trying to meet the basic needs of healthcare, food, water, clothing and shelter to the survivors.  

As part of "phase two" of the relief response, we must address emotional trauma and spiritual distress.  This is where you can help the people of the Bahamas by providing them with the Spoken Word of God.  You can help bring HOPE to those who are weary and broken.

What is a Solar Audio Bible?

Because the Audio Bible player is solar powered, they are totally independent of electricity. Solar powered devices are a valuable feature in places without electrical power.

When natural disasters occur, this Audio Bible player speaks the comfort of God’s Word in spite of the fact that most electrical systems in the country can be badly damaged. 

Each Solar Bible is loaded with a complete audio Bible and hours of instrumental hymns.

Your tax deductible gift of $40 will provide 1 Solar Bible for a person or family in the Bahamas.  Your generous support of $200 will provide 5 Solar Bibles to help spread the joy of God's Spoken Word to the survivors. 

Our initial goal is to send 100 Solar Audio Bibles.

Matthew 28:19-20 – The Great Commission

After his resurrection from the dead, Jesus told his disciples, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

For almost 2,000 years, Jesus’ words have directed His followers to reach people everywhere with the Good News. By 2015, 2.3 billion people, almost a third of the world’s population, identified itself as Christian. While that is certainly an encouraging figure, the task assigned to the Church to reach every language group is yet to be completed.

The world’s 7,100 languages are spoken by 7.4 billion people, more than half of whom are oral learners – people who are unable to read or prefer to learn by listening. If people cannot read, or choose not to, the Bible’s redemptive message remains silent. That is why, in 1988, our founders felt called to break the silence by creating the first solar powered audio Bible. 30 years later, thanks to distribution efforts by hundreds of partnering ministries, God’s redemptive message on MegaVoice audio Bibles has been heard by millions of people speaking thousands of languages.
