December 2020 Newsletter | Janet & Mom
Thanks to you, this year thousands of visually impaired men, women and children received free Audio Bibles for their National Library Service for the Blind talking book player, a free MP3 Audio Bible CD, a DVD audio/video Bible or a subsidized handheld “Hear My Bible” player. On behalf of them, thank you for giving them independent access to the Word of God.
We recently received a request from a woman whose mother was placed in hospice care. I would like to share with you a letter we received from her.
“Today we received our Audio Bible in the mail. My mother has had 7 strokes and is on hospice unable to talk and or move anything other than her eyes and mouth.
She has always loved the Bible and read it daily. Your “gadget” will allow her to be able to listen to the Bible day or night whether or not her caregivers read well or feel the Bible is important for them to read, or have the time. Thank you for this gift. The comfort it provides is possibly the last season of her Christian walk.
We would not have been able to afford this right now and were struggling to figure out how to pay for it. Thank you for your generous help.” –Janet
Whenever we receive a request from a hospice facility, nurse or family of a hospice patient, we have to move quickly. Many times the patients are only given a few weeks or months to live.
We often hear that reading—or in their case–listening to the Bible just one more time is one of their last desires.
Their terminal illness typically makes them too weak to hold and turn the pages or even focus on the small print of a Bible. This often requires someone to read the Bible to them, and as Janet shared, it’s difficult for a person to be there and read at all times of the day or night.
Every day, your financial support makes stories like those of Janet and her mother possible.
We simply couldn’t provide print-handicapped people an Audio Bible without you. Your support makes a real, lasting impact in the lives of those that need to hear it.
Please, prayerfully consider giving a donation to Aurora Ministries this month or maybe before the end of this year so your gift can count towards 2020.Aurora Ministries is a 501(c)(3) public charity and a member of The Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, also known as ECFA.
